Abstract

A study was conducted on the possibility of evaluating the aging of asphalt pavement with a spectrometer. VIS (Visible Imaging Spectrometer) index was calculated for each type of asphalt binder and aging. As a result, compared to before aging, the spectral characteristics of the double long-term aged (PAV2) asphalt binder tended to decrease. The aged asphalt specimen was measured to have a lower reflectance than before aging. When the surface of the asphalt specimen was cut, the spectral properties of 700 to 1600 nm were changed. Using this result, it will be possible to evaluate the degree of exposure of aggregates in old pavements compared to virgin.
