Abstract
This study evaluated high-temperature performance of SBS-modified warm-mixasphalt(WMA) mix tures in comparison with SBS-modified hot-mixasphalt(HMA) mixtures. Four SBS brands, three WMA additives (WAD) were used to prepare a total of 20 mixtures (including controls). The wheel tracking (WT) rut depth and deformation strength (SD) were used for evaluating high-temperature performance of the mixtures. In both test results, no differences were found among 4 SBS types and 3 WAD brands. WMA mixtures were showed approx imately 5% lower Sd values than HMA mixtures. But in WT test, the normal and PMA WMA mixtures showed 40% and 11% higher rut depth than HMA mixtures. Therefore, it was found that WMA mixtures were found to be weaker than HMA mixtures in rut resistance, at high service temperature.
