The domestic Guss(Mastic) asphalt pavement introduced German technology in 1997 and paved Jeongsan Bridge 1 in Gwangyang. After that, the entire process from the design, production, and construction of Guss asphalt was carried out with our technology, and the first-generation Korean Guss asphalt pavement method was completed. The second-generation Guss asphalt paving method developed and used in 2010 uses a premix asphalt binder to produce mixtures. It is also a low-carbon Guss asphalt paving technology that transports and paving mixtures at low temperatures of 20°C. This study investigated and analyzed the difference between plant mix first and second-generation Guss asphalt technologies using TLA(Trinidad Lake asphalt) and second-generation low-carbon Guss asphalt technologies using premix methods, and investigated and analyzed project-specific test data. As a result of the analysis, the second-generation low-carbon Guss asphalt mixture using premix method at a low temperature of 20°C improved quality and improved dynamic stability and at low temperatures bending test results. Therefore, the second-generation low-carbon Guss asphalt using premix method is considered an appropriate alternative at a time when low-carbon reduction in the asphalt paving field must be realized.
