Abstract

The porous asphalt binder can be divided into a premix type and a plant mix type according to manufacturing method. The premix type binder was found to show an unstable pavement quality due to non-homogeneity of the asphalt mixture because of phase separation at a relatively high temperature. Therefore, this study analyzes the engineering characteristics using the physical property test and the PG grade evaluation test of the high-viscosity porous binder used in Korea, and suggests an improvement plan for the stability of the high-viscosity porous binder.
