Abstract
The Seoul metropolitan government has adopted the Median Curb Bus Lane to solve a traffic jam. However, the distresses which included the permanent deformation, pot holes were found from the pavement that used the color asphalt mixtures. The pavement structural and core analysis were conducted to find the cause of the distresses. The investigation using the deformation of the pavement layer, and the measurement of the surface layer shows that the location of the permanent deformation corresponds the weak base layers. Hie FWD tests were conducted to find the weak base layer and evaluate the bearing capacity of the pavement layer. The existing TA and design TA are calculated and the elastic modulus are computed using the FWD test data. The reinforcement of the base layer was determined by the existing TA and the elastic modulus of the pavement system. The 15% of the section tested were required the reinforcement.
