Using Shear Mode (Mode II) crack of asphalt pavement overlaid on aged concrete pavement of behavior characteristics

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the behavior characteristics of overlaid asphalt pavements, which were made Polymer Modified Asphalt (PMA), Crumb Rubber Membrane Asphalt (CRM) and normal asphalt (AP), against reflection cracking in using Shear Mode II test. From the test results, PMA pavement was observed to have a significant retardation effect against reflection cracking.
