Abstract
This paper presents the method of thickness design of the semi rigid pavement. The semi rigid pavement shows the both characteristics of the asphalt and concrete pavement, hence, the theoretical thickness design method has not existed. The various thickness design methods were studied using the AASHOTO, TA, composite pavement and container yard pavement. The calculation of the thickness designs result in the different thickness and the results of the calculation were well explained the characteristics of the design methods used. The minimum calculated thickness is 7 cm and the maximum thickness is 10 cm, the average of the thickness is 8.3 cm. Upon the study of the minimum, maximum and the average thickness, the design method of container yard pavement thickness is the candidate method for the method of semi rigid pavement thickness.
