Abstract
Two kinds, cationic and anionic, of medium-setting emulsion asphalts were prepared; they were abbreviated as MS(C) and MS(A), respectively. Then three additives, stabilizer, setting modifier and polymer modifier, were sequentially added to the emulsion asphalts to see the effect of antistripping of each. MS(C) was effective on both of granite which is most abundant and has minus(-) charge on the surface, and limestone which has plus(+) charge. MS(A), however was effective on granite in stead of limestone. Stabilizer and setting modifier did not help the antistripping but the polymer modifier did, which is poly(vinyl alcohol).
